Additional Information

The State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) allows the University of Utah to offer distance education to students without the need to obtain specific agreements from individual states. As of 2023 49 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands have all joined SARA. California does not regulate public universities in other states and so while California is not a SARA member the University of Utah may enroll students in California. Utah has been a SARA-participating institution since November 2016. To learn more please visit the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) Website

Professional Licensure

As part of distance education compliance efforts, the University of Utah is required to maintain a list of programs that lead to professional licensure and determinations regarding whether those programs meet educational requirements for licensure in each US State and Territory. Please refer to the Licensure Disclosures page to view information for a specific program.
