The University of Utah has been a participant in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) since November 2016. SARA reduces the number of other state regulations to continually monitor as well as the number of applications and surety bonds the U has to complete, resulting in more efficiency in the authorization process and enabling the U to continue to offer and expand educational activities to students — both in and out of the state of Utah! To learn more about what this means for you please follow the links below or contact the SARA Coordinator.
Learning Placements
Out-of-State Learning Placements (abbreviated as OOSLPs) are learning placements offered for credit that take place outside the state of Utah.
SARA
SARA is a reciprocity based approach to state authorization. SARA is managed through a partnership between the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) and four regional education compacts. To learn more please visit the NC-SARA website linked below.
Licensure Disclosures
The Department of Education released new Federal Regulations requiring the U to provide disclosures to students about professional licensure/certification.
